Brea Civic/Cultural Center

The City of Brea Management needed a building which would be flexible, allow off-hour private sector use, and command a sense of aesthetic strength. To this end, the architects designed a civil/cultural center to include all present and anticipated future government office functions. The reinforced concrete and glass structure contains spaces for a full 300-seat theater, a television studio, a museum, and exhibit gallery, a county branch library, school board offices, as well as complete police facilities. In successful operation since 1980, the Civic/Cultural Center also has two floors of underground parking allowing staff and visitors direct elevator access. The user-friendly tenant improvements developed here for all city departments have much in common with the Ventura Government Center.
