Ventura County Government Center

This campus is the result of an 80 acre Master Plan encompassing county courts, legal support, administrative offices, public works center, sheriff’s office and pretrial facility. The major public oriented buildings are grouped around a courtyard colonnade and fountain. A sand colored pre-cast concrete exterior facade is supported on a steel structural frame.

The one million square foot complex contains twenty-nine courtrooms, including both Municipal and Superior Courts. A sky lit atrium in the three-level County Services Building provides public access to all office functions on each of the 90,000sf floors. Built ahead of schedule and below expected construction budget, this facility has been well received by its community and set a precedent for government and pretrial facilities.
